Morel's R&D team set their goals to stretch the boundaries even further than before and engineer a high-end speaker capable of recreating the excitement of live music, in a refined contemporary package that would appeal to a wide audience.
The Sopran 3-way (five drive units) is a combination of creative vision and acoustically optimised physics. Featuring Morel’s most advanced technologies such as internal standing waves diffusion that shaped the curved carbon fibre composite cabinet, requiring no internal absorption material. The end result after MANY iterations in R&D(!) is a speaker so transparent and natural that it sounds as if there was no cabinet at all. For tight and controlled bass reproduction, a new in-line port technology was developed, moulding the speaker’s back into the shape of a “spine” to achieve a significantly improved soundstage and realism. Completing the cabinet design are the new innovative Lotus speaker grilles patented by Morel, that considerably reduce the distortion created by traditional grilles.
Leveraging Morel's latest transducer technology, Morel also developed new 6-inch drivers utilising titanium support mechanisms that transfers the motor force to the membrane with minimal energy loss. This preserves the drama and dynamics of the original sound, creating a more tactile, spine tingling musical experience.
